Day 1 - Fly to Sukhothai, explore the 700 years old ruins of ancient Sukhothai.

Day 2 - Explore the trails of Ramkamphaeng National Park in search of native species.

Day 3 - Travel to Hang Dong, exploring Wat Lampang and the Mae Tha market.

Day 4 - Van to the top of Doi Inthanon, Thailand's tallest peak and hike the trails of the cloud rainforest on top to see cooler growing species.

Day 5 - Explore Chiang Mai's historic temples, free time in the afternoon and a traditional Khantoke Dinner.

Day 6 - Hike the trails of Doi Suthep, in search of orchids, hill tribes and beautiful vistas.


Day 7 - Visit Phrao Orchids, a chance to buy species for your collection back home, continue in the afternoon to Chiang Dao.

Day 8 - Drive north through the mountains, visiting a Kayan (long neck) village, Mae Salong tea growing area and relax in a mountain top resort.

Day 9 - Drive back to Chiang Mai via Chiang Rai to visit the incredible Wat Rong Khun (white temple). Visit Chiang Mai's Kamtien plant market where your orchid purchases will be ready for your flight home.

Day 10 - Say your fond farewells, as you board your flights back to Bangkok.

Getting There

The tour meets at Sukhothai Airport (THS) and finishes at Chiang Mai Airport (CNX). Both airports are served by Bangkok Air from Bangkok (BKK), with numerous flight options from around the world to Bangkok.

Day 1 - Arrive in Kota Kinabalu, visit the gardens at Orchids de Villa and enjoy a sunset cruise.

Day 2 - Visit Mt Kinabalu World Heritage Area, exploring the orchid laden forest at the 1500 meter level.

Day 3 - We ascend a bit higher to Mesilau Nature resort at 2000 meters for more forest walks.

Day 4 - Travel to Poring Hot Springs.

Day 5 - Visit the Poring Orchid Conservation Centre growing some 1200 Borneo species.


Day 6 - Visit Tenom Agricultural Park with local orchid expert Anthony Lamb.

Day 7 - Explore the recently opened rare orchid habitat of Alab Mountain.

Day 8 - Shuttle back to Kota Kinabalu, fly to the remote Mulu National Park.

Day 9/10 - Explore Mulu's forests, rivers and caves.

Day 11/12 - Fly to Kuching, visit orangutan center, private orchid collections and Kubah national park.

Our Borneo tour uses mix of first class hotels and National Park bungalows, as we travel well off the beaten tourist path. All our overnight stays feature en suite baths with hot showers and many have modern conveniences such as wifi.
